Founded in 1974, Caple Industrial Solutions is a family owned business whose product range extends to power tools, classical-automatic, and industrial machines. Caple’s business model is sales through education. The machines supplied have continued to be the backbone of numerous furniture workshops across India.
Today, the third generation of the Caple family is professionally running the company, spearheaded by their CEO since 1996, Satyan Thukral. Satyan has enhanced his skills through multiple training programs and imparted training to the industry. He has pledged to run the company upholding core values of relationship, fair price, trust and transparency, high-performance team, innovation, and customer delight. These seem easy in theory but is difficult to execute in practice.
Satyan’s practice adopts the industrialist philosophy of KYCC: Know your customer’s customer. The company integrates consultancy, supplies and service into its responsibilities. Focusing on operational efficiency and keeping the company on profitable growth is the key to scaling up and sustaining the development.

The Right to Repair or Replace
The machine tool industry thrives on spare parts sales, which is painful for customers. The trained service team at Caple understands and identifies a customer’s challenges by diagnosing the root cause of the problem, and then consults with the customer to arrive at the best possible solution to save on downtime or the cost of spare. The customer is given the right to choose between repair or replacement of the spare.
Caple has a hybrid approach:
a.) a field visit where the team visits the customer to see the workshop in question, and suggest an appropriate solution,
b.) an online resource platform which is integrated with price and availability of items, and
c.) Caple’s Center of Excellence which is a one-of-a kind center spread over 16,000 sq. ft. showcasing the best technology on offer. The company also attends and participates in major national and international exhibitions.
The operations of Caple Industrial Solutions are professionally managed across India. Most of members of the Dimension Network are customers of caple.in. Satyan is also an integral part of the network, influencing almost all studios or large organizations that might need solutions to cabinet making, carpentry, veneering, surface f inishing, solid surface fabrication, aluminium or light metal fabrication, dust collection systems, CAD CAM software and more. To this day, Caple supplies heavy machinery to all the top manufacturers and construction agencies across India.
At a stall at one such exhibition a few years ago, Satyan teamed up with Bram Woodcrafting Solutions to display many pieces that were made using CAPLE’s machinery. This also led him to later purchase many products from members of the Dimension Network to then use to functionally populate his household. His constant support and dissemination of knowledge to the Dimension Network has resulted in the solving of numerous problems and aid of multiple designers.
The future of the furniture and construction industry will always look bright when companies like Caple are being led by innovative and eminent thinkers like Satyan Thukral. Going forward, the company plans to build more experience and demo-centers across additional cities in India, where consumers can get a first-hand understanding of the various products and machines that propagate the furniture design craft in India.
